CPC Tandem Grant Writing Challenge

The CPC Research School is awarding 10.000 € each for three innovative and creative tandem research projects between two different working groups.

The aim is to support a tandem project between two MD/PhD students or between an MD/PhD student and a postdoc from two different working groups (newly established tandems). Applicants had to submit a proposal (3 pages including a description of the project, a budget plan, and a work/time plan), related to their doctoral/postdoctoral project. Applications were reviewed by the CPC Research School Team and expert reviewers in a blinded manner.

The following projects have been selected for funding:

  • Hani Alsafadi and Michael Gerckens "Screening for small molecule therapeutics for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis: Analysis of 3D human lung tissue remodeling ex vivo"
  • Andrea Schamberger and Maximilian Strunz "Mapping the cellular hierarchy of distal airway epithelial cells in COPD patients"
  • Carmela Morrone and Salome Rehm "Tissue protective effect of cysteine-protease inhibitors during ex-vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) to prevent subsequent primary graft dysfunction after lung transplantation in mouse model"

Congratulations!

We would like to thank everyone for participating in the CPC Grant Writing Challenge and for submitting so many interesting and thoughtful grant applications.
