Laura Klotz receives DZL Poster Award - Disease Area Lung Cancer

Dr. Laura Klotz, physician-scientist in the lab "Molecular Lung Carcinogenesis" (headed by Dr. Georgios Stathopoulos) at the iLBD/CPC, received an award for the best poster of the disease area "Lung Cancer" at the 7th DZL Annual Meeting, held in Bad Nauheim, Germany, on February 8 and 9, 2018.

Laura Klotz presented a poster with the title "Comprehensive clinical profiling of the Gauting locoregional lung adenocarcinoma donors". Within the scope of the work, 50 different parameters of patients with loco-regional lung adenocarcinoma were examined. Lung adenocarcinoma, a special form of lung cancer, has been increasingly present in recent years in younger patients, women, and especially non-smokers, so that accurate characterization of this disease is of great importance to establish new therapeutic options.

The German Center for Lung Research (DZL) is an association of the leading university and non-university institutions dedicated to lung research in Germany. Using translational research methods, the DZL seeks to jointly develop new approaches for the prevention, diagnosis, and therapy of serious lung diseases including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis, diffuse parenchymal lung disease, end stage lung disease, lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, pneumonia, and acute lung injury.
